Here's what we'll be doing...

We'll be working alongside Habitat’s construction team on an active home build. Depending on what’s happening that day, you could be framing, siding, painting, landscaping, moving materials, or tackling other hands-on projects.

No construction experience needed—Habitat will show us what to do. Just bring your energy, teamwork, and willingness to jump in!

After, we'll head to Olde Town Tavern and Grill to celebrate our day of giving back! 🍻

Registration: 

Each volunteer will need to register individually using this link: https://vhub.at/COroofingassociation. 

Registration is important so each participant can complete the waiver, receive key day-of details, and be fully prepared. Volunteers must register themselves; we’re unable to register individuals on their behalf.

What to Expect

All volunteers must arrive on time for a mandatory orientation and safety briefing at the start of the day. Anyone who misses this briefing will not be able to participate.

Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Be prepared for both indoor and outdoor work, as construction needs may change. All required safety gear, including hard hats and glasses, will be provided.

Staff and volunteers typically break for lunch around 11:30am. Lunch is not provided, so please ensure all volunteers bring their own lunch and water bottle.

As we experience high temperatures and air quality issues throughout the summer, please encourage your group to be mindful of how conditions may affect them while doing  physical labor outdoors. If folks have pre-existing conditions that might be exacerbated by extreme heat and poor air quality, they should feel free to cancel their shift if needed as we cannot guarantee inside work on site. Please encourage your group members to use their best judgment when coming out to site. The safety of our volunteers is a top priority. Construction/Build Day

Construction volunteers make a tangible difference with every day they spend helping build and repair homes. No construction experience is necessary.

1. Sign-In — Arrive several minutes before the scheduled start time. A team member will greet you and check you in.
2. Overview & Safety Orientation — A staff member will give a short overview of Habitat and lead a safety orientation. Safety is a top priority, so attendance at this orientation is mandatory.
3. Team Assignments — Supervisors will divide the group into smaller teams if needed and walk everyone through the day's tasks.
4. On-Site Support — If you're ever asked to do something you're not comfortable with, just let your supervisor know — they'll help you get comfortable with the task or find you a different one.
