Changing standards. Emerging technical challenges. Is your team ready for what's ahead in 2027?

The roofing industry isn't standing still, and neither is Mark! He's spent the fall speaking with roofing professionals across the country about the latest technical developments, industry standards, and lessons learned. Now it's Colorado's turn!

CRA is pleased to welcome back Mark Graham, Vice President of Technical Services for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), to share his national perspective on the technical issues contractors should be watching, what's changing, and what they need to know to stay informed and better prepared for their upcoming roofing projects.

Drawing on NRCA's technical research, industry involvement, and questions received from contractors across the country, Mark will help us look ahead to 2027 and identify developments that could affect roofing system design, materials, and installation.

Here's a preview of some of the topics* that could be part of the conversation:

  • Recent Roofing Problems & Lessons Learned – Common technical issues and questions being reported to NRCA, including installation concerns and ways to avoid costly mistakes.

  • FM Guidelines & Industry Standards – Recent changes to testing, approvals, and requirements affecting roof system design and installation.

  • Building Code Updates – National code developments and technical requirements impacting roofing contractors.

  • Roofing Materials & Installation Practices – Emerging materials, technologies, and evolving installation methods.

  • Insurance-Related Technical Issues – How changing insurance requirements and industry expectations may affect roofing systems.

Mark will also share insights on other emerging technical issues and answer questions from attendees.

Whether you work in residential or commercial roofing, this is an opportunity to hear what's happening nationally, what may be coming in 2027, and how to better prepare for your upcoming projects.

*Topics may shift slightly as we get closer to December.
