CRA Honors Dan Govan with 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award
Denver, CO — The Colorado Roofing Association (CRA) proudly honored Dan Govan with its 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual CRA Awards Dinner held on February 27, 2025. This prestigious award is presented to an individual whose lasting contributions have positively impacted the roofing industry in Colorado.
Dan’s journey into roofing is anything but ordinary. After a decade-long career in investment banking, he made what he calls “the best investment ever” by joining the roofing industry—a move inspired by his father-in-law and mentor, Bill McCracken, a former CRA Lifetime Achievement honoree.
Since 1980, Dan has played a key role in growing the family business, B.R. McCracken Co., and has built trusted relationships throughout the Colorado roofing community. Over the years, he has worked alongside multiple generations of his family and become a valued resource to contractors across the state.
His commitment to the industry extended beyond business. From 1988 to 2013, Dan served the CRA in many roles, including vice president, secretary, treasurer, and committee chair. He was instrumental in advancing CRA’s community service efforts, supporting licensing initiatives, and helping launch the association’s first website.
Dan is known for his humility, mentorship, and passion for helping contractors solve real-world challenges. He continues to be an active presence in the industry and at CRA events, offering his time, expertise, and support to others.
