Tile Roofing 

Course Highlights*

CRA’s Roof Tile Course will review and train in all aspects of the roof tile system as it applies to Colorado and our unique conditions. Roof tiles have been installed in Colorado since the early 1900s, and over time The System has evolved to meet current code standards, manufacturers’ installation guidelines, specific climate considerations, roof slopes, underlayment systems, and the roof tiles being installed.

This course will start with pre-estimate/proposal requirements that lay the foundation of the system, then review the materials and methods needed to complete the system. The course will also include hands-on training in the shop, appropriate equipment/hand tools, safety hazards and good safety practices/techniques will be demonstrated.

The class is for students who have background in roofing and want to improve what they know.

• 2 day course, of which over 50% is hands-on installation techniques/training
• 8am - 5pm 
• Small class size: Maximum 16 students
• Students will receive a “Certificate of Completion” upon passing the course.

Make a commitment to take a person out of the field for two-days, we’ll train them and with their new knowledge and skills, they will be twice as productive when they return.

*Course Prerequisite:

Student(s) enrolling in this course must have met one of the following prerequisites to attend this advanced class:

1. Successfully completed the Introduction to Roofing course
2. Have a written statement from employer that affirms student has 6-months related on-the-job field experience in metal roofing.

Cost:

Total MEMBER Investment: $525.00

Total NON-Member Investment: $800.00

CRA Member Continuing Involvement Units (CIUs) = 8 per person 

Tile Roofing 2-Day Course Curriculum

Day 1             8:00 – Noon

Introductions, class rules, tile roofing system basics, terminology, roof assembly overview, and key flashing/detail locations.

1:00 – 5:00 pm

Layout instruction and hands-on mock-ups: spacing/lines, dormer alignment, batten installation, valley layout, and overview of integrating trim/flashings. 

Day 2            8:00 – Noon

Hands-on mock-ups: install trim metals, tile cutting overview (dry vs. wet saw), and fastening/securement methods (nails/screws). 

 1:00 – 5:00 pm

Install tile, troubleshoot common issues, review repairs/corrections, tear-down, final review, and quiz.

• CRA classes are limited to two students per company.*
• Student will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

*Course may be canceled if class minimums are not met.

Bring with you

Students should bring their own gloves, safety glasses and hand tools. (Supplementary tools will be available for use during the class.)

Terms & Conditions

By registering to attend a class at the CRA Training Center, you CONFIRM and ACCEPT the following terms, conditions and policies.

Terms and Conditions: Payment is required at the time of registration. 

Class Changes and Cancellations: A class will be closed when it reaches its maximum enrollment, so register early. The CRA Training Center reserves the right to cancel any course in the event of insufficient enrollment. Course cancellations will be made at least one week prior to the course start date. Students enrolled in a cancelled class are entitled to a full refund.

Refund Policy: If a cancellation notice is received in writing 7 calendar days prior to the start of the course, a full (100%) refund will be issued within two weeks from the date of cancellation. No credit will be given for partial classes/sessions taken.

Late Cancellation Policy (Less Than 7 Days’ Notice):

• Cancellations made within 6 calendar days of the class start date are non-refundable.
• If a participant is unable to attend, a substitute from the same company may attend in their place at no additional charge. Please notify us in advance of any substitutions.

 No-Shows:

• Registrants who do not show up for a class and do not provide written notice at least 7 calendar days in advance will forfeit the full registration fee.
• No refunds or credits will be issued for no-shows.
